Jake's First Prom

Our Stake hosted Mormon Prom this year- I think 7 stakes were invited. Jake and his date McKenna look so cute together and had a great time with all their friends!

Where has the year gone?

The last time I posted photos was the first day of school, and now we are one week away from the last day of school!! Time flies with 4 busy kids in school, sports, scouts, etc. ect. So here is our school year in review:
Ryan's a teenager- the big 13!
He got 3 more gerbils because his other
3 had died off, and somehow he convinced us
that he couldn't  live without them, and promised
to do better at cleaning their cage.

Grandpa Marx got in on the action and tried out
Ryan's  new headphones. He was rockin to
"Another One Bites the Dust"

Aubrey was a bride for Halloween- too much
watching TLC "Say yes to the dress"!
Grandma Marx was kind enough to make
it for her just the way she wanted it.
She even wore my wedding veil.
Hailey as a simple country cowgirl.

Ryan as an obnoxious teenager that doesn't
want to dress up for Halloween, but just wants
candy. He wore a Sponge Bob jammie shirt
and called it a costume.

Jake and Daisey sharing some cuddle time.
Aubrey & Hailey played another year of soccer.
They both lucked out and got pink uniforms!
 We love PINK!

Ryan played basketball, volleyball, and track with
 the middle school.

My sister Staci and I took a road trip to CALI
to see our big sis, Valie!

Making gingerbread houses at Grandma Oldhams,
 a favorite Christmas tradition.

More cuddle time with Daisey Dog!

The grandkids all get to play a part in acting out
the nativity on Christmas Eve. Ryan looks more like
a ninja shepherd.

Hailey sitting with her favorite kind of
Santa.... Grandpa Santa! Grandpa Oldham
dresses up every year, and it used to scare
Hailey when she was a baby, but now
 she's okay with it.
We squeezed in a couple projects and painted
the kids' rooms.

Its hard to see the polka dots- we did them a
lighter blue so they would be subtle.(Click
on the picture to enlarge it.)

Jake's 16th Birthday
We still have Jake's first pair of Nikes he wore
when he was one year old! He's grown a bit!

Jake was on swim team, played basketball
and varsity volleyball during his sophomore year.

The girls are playing softball now and they

First Day of School

Back to School they go! Aubrey into
5th grade, and Hailey into 3rd.

Ryan is in middle school now,
a "sevy" as they call the
7th graders.
Jake is a sophomore in High School!

California Getaway

We surprized the kids- instead of driving we flew
to California to go to Knotts Berry Farm. They had
no idea until we were in the car and heading the
wrong direction. We just told them we knew of
a shortcut!
It was so exciting for them, because it was their
first time in an airplane and so fun for us
to experience it through their eyes.
Even the bus ride from the airport to get the
rental car was an adventure.
Hailey and Daddy were partners again for all the
scary rides...

and even the not so scary ones!
John and Jake won a bunch of stuffed animals
at a Basketball game so we had to get a photo of
their winnings!
And of course in front of the hot dog place.
The boys found some lady friends, but didn't have much luck with them.....

And yet another prize....

and a few more to add to the collection. We had
to buy a big duffle bag at Walmart to carry them
all home!
The beach was windy and the water was cold, but
that didn't stop the kids from enjoying
every minute of it.

Our last stop before we went home was
Randy's donuts, right by LAX.
Those are some good donuts!
